12th April 2019
Dear Families,
As we take a break for the Easter Holiday we wish Mrs Hayley Callan our very best wishes, as she begins her maternity leave and we will all look forward to hearing her good news soon.
We also take this opportunity to wish Mrs Jeannie Holder, cook-in-charge at Hook School for 32 1/2 years a well deserved and happy retirement.
The recent Open Learning Afternoons, Mother’s Day Tea, Easter Eggstravaganza, Gruffalo Tea Party and Residential Visit to the Urdd Campus in Cardiff City have been well attended and thoroughly enjoyed by our children, and we are grateful to everyone for their support. These are events that are unique to our village school and are successful with the partnership of school staff and families working together, for our children.
Next term the Welsh National Tests will be administered from Tuesday 7th – 14th May for pupils in years 2 – 6 and the results of these assessments will be made available at the end of the summer term along with the annual summative reports.
Many congratulations are extended to William Harries, who came 1st in the recent 1500m inter-county cross country competition at Swansea, and to the school’s netball and cross country teams, who competed in local competitions. Next term we will be holding our annual sports day on Wednesday 26th June, (reserve date Wednesday 3rd July), and the reorganised date for the annual Urdd Rugby Tournament is on Wednesday 1st May at Neyland RFC.
We look forward to seeing everyone for the start of the Summer Term on Monday 29th April.
Happy Easter,
Hook School Staff
